Wilton Weavers Pvt Ltd is a Kerala carpet mill at Kalavamkodam in Cherthala, Alappuzha, weaving aviation carpets and fine wool broadloom. The company weaves on the Wilton principle, interlocking the pile yarn through the warp and weft for density and durability, and runs the sequence in house from yarn selection and dyeing through creel and bobbin setup, loom weaving, inspection, shearing and hand finishing. Its approvals and certifications are AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015, a DGCA India approval covering AP.07 ADOA and POE, a NABL accredited testing laboratory and Boeing Tier 1 supplier qualification. It sits on the Bureau of Indian Standards committee for broadloom and aircraft carpet standards and is a member of the CII National Committee for Aerospace Manufacturing, the Aerospace India Association and the Indian Foundation for Quality Management. Named customers include Boeing, Air India and SpiceJet in aviation and Stark, Fibreworks, Couristan, Rolls and Rebel in commercial carpet. It takes fully bespoke work to customer specification.
Wilton weaves precision engineered carpet for aircraft cabins, made to airline and airframe specification. The company holds DGCA India design and production approvals for this work and states Boeing Tier 1 supplier qualification.
The broadloom line is woven from fine wool and premium yarns that are select dyed and wound before they reach the loom. Wilton weaving interlocks the pile through the warp and weft, which is what gives the cloth its density and wear.
The mill takes fully custom carpet to a customer's own design and specification, with the dyeing done in house. Finishing runs through inspection, shearing and hand finishing before the roll leaves the factory.
