Vayda Overseas is a Panipat maker of rugs, pillows, throws, poufs and bath mats, founded in 2020. The company traces its line to 1939, when Vishwa Nath began spinning wool for military blankets and was, by the family's account, one of only three spinners in the country at that time. The house moved into tufted rug manufacturing in 1971 and into specialty yarns including nylon, cable yarn, polypropylene, jute and hemp from 2000. Vishwa Nath's son Ajay joined the family business, the Raj Group, in 1993, and by the company's account was first in the trade to make PET yarn from recycled plastic bottles in 2008. Ajay founded Vayda in 2020 with his daughters, and alongside the Panipat head office the company lists offices in the United States and Japan.
Vayda Overseas makes handcrafted rugs in hand tufted, woven and screen printed constructions. The line follows a Panipat tufting history the family dates to 1971.
Pillows are made by the company's artisans with embroidery, tufting, weaving, printing and macrame work. The covers are built for a soft hand feel with added surface texture.
Finely woven throws are handcrafted by the company's weavers. They sit beside the rug and pillow ranges in the same Panipat collection.
Bathmats are woven in textured constructions for a soft hand feel. The company draws on its own specialty yarns, which include nylon, polypropylene, jute and hemp.
Poufs are made in woven, tufted, printed, macrame and crochet constructions. They are produced by the artisan teams that also make the pillow and throw lines.
The recycled line is made from PET fibre spun out of used plastic bottles. By the company's account its founder was first in the trade to make that yarn, in 2008.
