Travancore Cocotuft Pvt. Ltd. is a Cherthala maker and exporter of doormats and floor coverings, working from Coir Park at Thiruvizha in the Alappuzha coir belt. The company traces the business to 1917, when Velayudhan began exporting coir from Alleppey, and it is a fifth generation family firm inside a group of six autonomous divisions turning over about 50 million dollars a year. Its range spans coir, rubber, jute, cotton, polypropylene and steel wire, taking in latex tufted, wire brush, nylon flocked, vinyl backed, clipped, impression, glitter printed and handloom coir doormats, coir and rubber moulded mats, jute loop pile and braided jute rugs, cotton chindi dhurries, gym, garage, stable and anti fatigue rubber mats and recycled PET mats. Tufting runs to 8,000 square metres a day across three PVC lines, flocking to 3,000 mats a day, cutting to 10,000 mats a day and drying to 100,000 mats a day, and it ships about 2,500 container loads a year to more than 85 countries. It offers private label and bespoke work and keeps more than 15 catalogues holding around 20,000 doormat designs. It holds ISO 9001:2015, SA8000:2008, Sedex SMETA four pillar and Oeko Tex Standard 100, is REACH compliant and is a three star export house.
Doormats that tuft natural coir onto a latex backing, pairing the scraping action of coconut fibre with a stable base for heavy traffic. The company offers coir in textures from coarse to fine and takes custom sizes, shapes, tufted designs and customer logos.
