Season Coir Exports has worked coconut fibre at Chingoli in Karthikappally, Alappuzha, Kerala since 1980. The firm makes coco geotextiles, curled coir rope, coir door mats, vinyl backed coir mats, coir and rubber composites and moulded rubber goods. It describes itself as one of very few organised companies in its part of the Kerala coir trade and points to its own product design, engineering and quality standards as what lets it compete on natural fibre goods abroad. Its mats reach American home textile, bath and design buyers.

Coir mats finished with a vinyl backing that holds the mat flat and stops it sliding. The backing is applied in house alongside the coir weaving.
