Salam India is a handmade carpet export house at Maryadpatti, near AICMA, in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh. The business began in 1991 when Faridul Islam founded Salam Carpets, and Salam India was established in 1999 under the proprietorship of Naghma Ansari. The range covers hand knotted, hand tufted, handloom, flat weave and broadloom carpets in wool, cotton, jute and chenille, together with cotton dhurries, poufs, cushions and woven wall art. A US ocean import record shows one shipment of hand tufted polyester and woollen carpets to J Leight Carpets in July 2022. It holds active membership of the Carpet Export Promotion Council under number 7551.

Knotted by hand on upright looms using traditional oriental rug technique, each knot tied and cut by the weaver. Made in wool with sizes and colourways to order.
Yarn is punched through a canvas backing marked with the design, then the pile is set and finished. Pile height, size and colour are made to order.
Woven with no knots at all, so the rug lies flat, stays light and works from either face. Made in wool and cotton for layering and for high traffic floors.

Handwoven on traditional looms from natural wool. Built to hold shape in use as seating and as a footrest.
Woven on a loom over vertical warp threads, then cut from the loom and hand tied to a natural wooden dowel for hanging. Also made as framed panels stretched over a wooden sub frame and set in a solid light wood gallery frame.
