Rugs Creation was set up in 2008 by Gaurav Chugh and Vinay Chugh at Alipur Khalsa near Gharaunda in Karnal district, on the edge of the Panipat weaving belt. Its main line is carpets and rugs, covering oriental, coastal, geometric, distressed, high low and shag constructions along with dhurries, and it also makes cushions and throws, poufs and ottomans, and woven, braided, crochet and macrame accessories. Secondary lines run to stools, baskets, bath rugs, wall hangings and bean bags. The factory covers a built up area of 40,000 square metres and the company says it now ships to more than 53 countries, mainly in Europe, the United States and Canada. It lists Oeko Tex, the Global Recycled Standard, Sedex, SA8000 certified by BSI, ISO 9001:2015, the Global Organic Textile Standard and Care & Fair among its certifications.
