Mahesh Carpets was founded in 1976 by Ram Kumar Maheshwari and has been led since 1998 by Maniessh Maheshwari of the second generation. The firm works from Araji No. 90D on the G.T. Road at Jagatpur in Varanasi and makes hand knotted, hand tufted, handloom, flat weave and shaggy carpets along with shaped and bespoke pieces, in wool, cotton, viscose, bamboo silk, tencel, chenille and PET. It holds GoodWeave, OEKO TEX, SEDEX, C TPAT and ISO certifications and is an active member of the Carpet Export Promotion Council under membership number 1473. US import records list 413 shipments to American importers including Loloi, Dynamic Rugs, Rugs USA and Bokara Rug Company, continuing into July 2026.
