Its catalogue runs to handloom durries and loris, loom knotted and flatwoven rugs, hand knotted and hand tufted pieces, kilims, gabbeh, jute, pitloom and printed rugs, with handloom and flatweave named as the techniques it works in most. The record runs through February 2016, the earlier shipment dating from January 2015.
Handloom durries, loom knotted rugs, flatweaves, hand knotted and hand tufted rugs, kilims, gabbeh, jute, pitloom and printed rugs
Flatwoven durries and the heavier lori quality, both made on handlooms. These are the constructions the firm names as its own specialism.
Rugs knotted on the loom rather than tufted, shown here in design LC-1353. Sold by design code across the firm's colour range.
Tufted pile pushed through a backing cloth and set before a second backing goes on, shown in design LC-1339. Made to order in size and colour.
Woven on a pit loom, the frame sunk into the ground that the Bhadohi villages have used for generations. Shown in design LC-18048.
Rugs carrying a printed rather than a woven pattern, catalogued in the LCP series. The ground is woven first and the design applied afterwards.
Rugs woven in jute, kept close to the fibre's own colour. Coarser underfoot than wool and lighter to ship.
Floor coverings made for outdoor use, woven to take weather and sun rather than for softness. Listed as a separate line in the firm's catalogue.
Thick tribal pile with a small number of large motifs on an open ground, loosely knotted and heavy in the hand.
