Knots N Tufts takes its name from the two constructions it deals in, handloom rugs and durries on the one side and hand-tufted carpets on the other. Handloom rugs, durries, hand-tufted carpets
Flatweaves made on a handloom, with no pile above the ground weave, so the rug reads the same from either face. Weight and firmness come from how tightly the weft is beaten in rather than from a backing.
Yarn punched through a canvas ground with a tufting gun, sealed with latex and closed with a second backing. The method suits deep pile and large plain fields, and holds carved outlines cleanly.
