Kashmir Oriental Carpet Enterprises trades as Carpets of Kashmir and has sold Kashmiri hand knotted carpets from the World Trade Centre at Cuffe Parade in Mumbai since 1979. Its stock runs to several hundred pieces in each quality, covering pure silk, pure wool and wool with silk carpets along with wool and hemp kilims. Designs are grouped as oriental, contemporary, geometric and tribal, modern Indian art, pictorials, avant garde and folklore, and transitional. The firm also sells pashmina shawls and takes bespoke orders for custom sizes, and it supplies a RugAssure certificate with every carpet.
Kilims are flat woven without a pile, made here in wool and in hemp. They are sold alongside the knotted carpets in the firm's floor covering range.
Pashmina shawls are sold from the same Mumbai showroom as the carpets. They are the firm's textile line outside floor coverings.
