Karpi India Private Limited is a carpet maker with its office at DLF City Phase II in Gurugram. The company makes hand tufted woollen carpets, hand woven woollen carpets and hand woven synthetic carpets, and offers carved, embossed, cut pile, loop pile and cut and loop finishes or any combination of them. It says it has been in the carpet trade for the last fifteen years and keeps design and development teams in both India and the Netherlands. Karpi B.V. of Aalten in the Netherlands is the group's European company and supplies rugs to customers across Europe.
Hand tufted woollen carpets are made by working wool yarn through a backing cloth and then finishing the pile. Karpi offers them carved, embossed, cut pile, loop pile or cut and loop, or in any combination of those finishes.
Hand woven woollen carpets are made on the loom in wool rather than tufted onto a backing. The company says its design capability and its colour, size and shape options on this line are unlimited.
Hand woven synthetic carpets are loom woven in man made fibres in place of wool. They are the third of the three constructions Karpi India lists.
