Extraweave Private Limited weaves floor coverings at Saktheeswaram Junction in Cherthala, Kerala, and was established in 2000 as a family run business. It runs a vertically integrated plant, with spinning machinery from Ireland, dyeing equipment from Italy, coating machines from the United States and weaving and finishing machinery from Belgium. Its collections are organised by fibre, covering sisal, jute, wool, lyocell and synthetic yarns, together with a designer line made with the textile designer Wesley Mancini. Its promoters also run the KVM Trust, which supports special needs education, palliative care and nursing and engineering colleges.
