Champo Carpets weaves in Bhadohi in eastern Uttar Pradesh and describes 52 years of carpet making behind the business. It sells hand tufted, hand knotted, hand woven and flat weave rugs across Floral, Modern, Traditional and Contemporary collections, alongside cushions, poufs, throws, baskets, table runners, wall art and bathmats. The company has added mechanised finishing to its hand weaving while keeping the older techniques, and makes a line of rugs from recycled plastic bottles. It gives particular weight to the women weavers in its workshops, and sells direct as well as to interior designers and retailers.

• Mashad

  Mashad is hand tufted in wool in traditional Persian motifs, a central medallion ringed by floral elements in mostly red tones. Champo takes the design from the Mashhad carpets and oriental rugs hand knotted in Iran and lists it in a 5X8 size.

• Hand Knotted Rugs

  Champo lists twenty hand knotted designs, among them Keshan, Bakhtiyar, Ghenghis, Arbedil, Lilian and Oceana. Listed prices on the company store run from 18,500 rupees up to 190,000 rupees for the Mihrab.

• Hand Tufted Rugs

• Flat Weave Rugs

  Flat weave rugs are woven without pile and sold beside the hand knotted, hand tufted and hand woven lines. The store also groups rugs by shape as runners, round rugs and minimalist rugs.

  Poufs are sold in the home accessories range beside cushions and throws. Champo also makes a line of rugs from recycled plastic bottles as part of its sustainability work.
