Avison Crafts makes handmade area rugs using hand knotted, hand tufted, handwoven and Indo Tibetan techniques. Materials include wool, pure silk, jute, linen, nettle and pet yarn. Designs run across traditional, modern, transitional, tribal and minimal plain rugs. Textures include cut pile, loop with cut pile, sumack with ply mix, and flat weave with an abrash effect. Finishing is by hand, covering pile trimming, knot inspection, rug shaping, framing and washing. The company is run by siblings from a decades old family rug business.
