Agra, India
Achal Amit & Company weaves floor coverings and home textiles at 105 Nehru Nagar in Agra, and its site puts the founding at 1946 with the first export order following in 1975. The house describes itself as privately owned, debt free and vertically integrated, running large in house production capacity rather than buying in finished goods, and it combines hand weaving with automated machinery. Its catalogue covers dhurries, area rugs, tufted rugs, bath rugs, cushion covers and poufs, grouped into collections such as Sustainable, Pet Outdoor, Ikat, Moroccan, Kilim and Leather, with custom made work taken alongside the standing range. On the plant side the company lists rainwater harvesting, LED lighting, a 100 kW solar plant and substantial greenery at its works. United States customs records carry 262 shipments under the name through June 2026, mostly cushion covers and polyester filled pouf covers for the American rug brands Loloi and Jaipur Living.
Rugs built around recycled and lower impact materials, headlining the company's current product set. They are woven at the Agra works, where the firm pairs hand weaving with automated machinery and runs a 100 kW solar plant on site.
Floor coverings made for households with animals and for covered outdoor use. The line sits within the company's own manufacturing rather than being sourced in, and like the rest of the range it can be taken as custom made in size and colour.
Rugs carrying the blurred edged ikat motif, one of six pattern collections the company puts forward. They are produced in house at Agra alongside the firm's dhurrie and tufted lines.
Rugs in the open lattice and diamond patterns of Moroccan weaving. The company makes them on its own looms at Agra and will size them to order.
Flat woven kilims with no pile, the traditional counterpart to the company's tufted lines. They come from the same Agra works, which has been exporting floor coverings since 1975.
Cushion covers built for outdoor settings, part of the soft furnishing side of the business. Cushion covers are the company's largest export line by shipment count, going in volume to American rug brands.
Bath rugs offered in tufted and printed constructions as separate sub collections. They are one of the six named product lines the company carries, alongside dhurries, area rugs, tufted rugs, cushion covers and poufs.
Rugs worked in leather, one of the more unusual materials in an otherwise textile catalogue. Production stays in house under a vertically integrated model.
